Matt has done a few jobs around the place for me – a fence, roofing work and other bits and pieces I couldn't do myself! I found him through a friend of a friend and he gave me a price that I was confident with so went ahead with it. He was very, very reliable and didn't mess around. He was always polite, listened to what I wanted and completed the job to a great standard.

Overall the work was good and team responsive. Some times over promised so had to manage certain aspects but we would hire them again.

We hired City Roofing to carry out a number of building jobs around our house including a new roof, outside rendering, extension of our porch and laying of a new driveway. Matthew who led the team was fantastic. He was always on hand to promptly discuss the work that was being carried out, and he and his team were highly professional throughout. We were particularly impressed with how Matthew would always go the extra mile to ensure we were completely satisfied with the work. If there were any questions we had throughout the project Matthew would always be on hand to guide us and provide honest pragmatic advice. City Roofing and Building did a great job on rebuilding the brick wall at the front of my property. They finished the job on time, and when "gotchas" arose (as they always do) they explained to me what was going on and dealt with it in their stride. I'd happyily recommend them to anyone.

The true sign of a professional with integrity is how they react when things don't go quite according to plan. Matthew and his team did the job as required, were utterly professional and acted with complete integrity. I have no hesitation in recommending him and would invite him back to do further work.
It is relatively easy to get a good review when everything goes smoothly, to get a good review even when they don't is something that really is hard earned. I hired Matthew and his team to remove nesting birds from the eaves of my roof and install anti roosting spikes to prevent the birds from returning. I live in a block of flats with 8 other tenants, so Matthew not only had me to contend with, but 8 other voices and opinions.

Front wall built as agreed and pleased with result

We own what they call a lion house, an Edwardian property in Wandsworth. The brick column holding a heavy stone lion at the apex of the roof was disintegrating, causing the lion to lean rather dangerously, so it was a matter of urgency to get the brickwork replaced with new bricks, also the concrete plinth the lion sits on needed replacing. I contacted City Roofing, and luckily they were able to do the job quickly. I live in Cornwall, so it's always a problem finding builders etc who don't rip you off, do a substandard job because they know I won't re around to inspect, so I was taking my usual chance hiring Matthew (City Roofing), but he's done an excellent job, and I couldn't be happier, we spoke over the phone throughout, and what a nice guy to deal with, he sent pictures of before and after, so I was assured of his work, and the pictures told the story, a brilliant piece of work, done quickly and efficiently. I can happily recommend City Roofing, and should I need anymore building work done, they are definitely top of my list.

I needed a slipped roof tile replaced and its surrounding strengthened for one of my rented property. Matt took on the job, went over with his guys, and completed the work promptly. Matthew and Lee replaced the glass conservatory-style roof over our rear extension (which was leaky and made the room very cold in winter) with a GRP "warm" roof incorporating two rooflights. We are very happy indeed with the result. It was a high quality job. Matthew and Lee were very pleasant people to deal with. They clearly care about their work. They will come back and redo something if you are not happy. They were always cheerful, even when the weather made things really difficult for them. Would definitely recommend!

Matthew was on time and very polite and helpful, explaining to me what it was he had to do. He also gave me a very reasonable quote for the work that needed to be carried out. The job consisted of removing some tiles to fix a leak and repainting the side of the building as the leak had caused it to turn green. Enthusiastic team.Prompt start.Took the effort to remove the old half bricks in order for the wall to look more seamless. Matthew and his team were easy to communicate with.

We needed our entire roof replaced, with new tiles, underfelt and insulation installed. Matthew and his team were very professional and courteous during the entire process, making sure to explain things clearly at every stage. While the tiles were off, we had some very heavy rain which caused some water to leak into the eaves and subsequently damage the ceiling to our downstairs room. Matthew made sure to repair the damage at no extra cost and prevent any more leaks. They installed new plasterboard and painted the whole thing. We also had a few holes and cracks in the loft room due to the roof works, which they filled in and made good at the end of the job. All rubbish was cleared afterwards promptly.
