Although the job overran by three days, the quality of the build was first class

I needed a slipped roof tile replaced and its surrounding strengthened for one of my rented property. Matt took on the job, went over with his guys, and completed the work promptly. As I wasn’t about, he sent me a clear picture of his completed work for me to see. I will use him again. And I recommend him to other MyBuilder users.

Matthew responded quickly to our advertisement and identified the root cause, and took my husband up on the roof to show him. He fixed the problem quickly and for a very reasonable price and we can see our wall is starting to dry out. He also fixed another problem we had found at the back of the house. Lee and Matthew are both brilliant. I chose City Building and Roofing for the job because out of the 6 builders who evaluated the situation- their pricing was fair, their manner, excellent and their time spent explaining everything to someone who hasn’t a clue, was informative without being confusing. Professional, thorough, attentive, knowledgeable and communicative. They got the job done despite bad weather at the time and so far, so good. When teething (not even) problems occurred, they were straight on it and went above and beyond to get everything right. Matthew and Lee replaced the glass conservatory-style roof over our rear extension (which was leaky and made the room very cold in winter) with a GRP "warm" roof incorporating two rooflights. The true sign of a professional with integrity is how they react when things don't go quite according to plan. It is relatively easy to get a good review when everything goes smoothly, to get a good review even when they don't is something that really is hard earned. We own what they call a lion house, an Edwardian property in Wandsworth. The brick column holding a heavy stone lion at the apex of the roof was disintegrating, causing the lion to lean rather dangerously, so it was a matter of urgency to get the brickwork replaced with new bricks, also the concrete plinth the lion sits on needed replacing. I contacted City Roofing, and luckily they were able to do the job quickly. I live in Cornwall, so it's always a problem finding builders etc who don't rip you off, do a substandard job because they know I won't re around to inspect, so I was taking my usual chance hiring Matthew (City Roofing), but he's done an excellent job, and I couldn't be happier, we spoke over the phone throughout, and what a nice guy to deal with, he sent pictures of before and after, so I was assured of his work, and the pictures told the story, a brilliant piece of work, done quickly and efficiently. I can happily recommend City Roofing, and should I need anymore building work done, they are definitely top of my list.

Although we didn't end up going with a builder from this site I would highly recommend Matthew for the diligence he showed in quoting for the job, he came round at least twice to look at the job, going above and beyond to get close to the issue and maintained good communication throughout.

Matt has done a few jobs around the place for me – a fence, roofing work and other bits and pieces I couldn't do myself! Matthew and his team did an amazing job in my house, fixing a damp issue (inside as well as outside the house), repainting several areas, replastering etc. They were very friendly and professional, thorough and incredibly quick to quote (reasonably), get the work started and finished. We needed our entire roof replaced, with new tiles, underfelt and insulation installed. Matthew and his team were very professional and courteous during the entire process, making sure to explain things clearly at every stage. While the tiles were off, we had some very heavy rain which caused some water to leak into the eaves and subsequently damage the ceiling to our downstairs room. Matthew made sure to repair the damage at no extra cost and prevent any more leaks. They installed new plasterboard and painted the whole thing. We also had a few holes and cracks in the loft room due to the roof works, which they filled in and made good at the end of the job. All rubbish was cleared afterwards promptly.

Matthew was great to deal with; very prompt and courteous. He also was really helpful in sending me pictures of the job before and after it was completed (I don't live at the property so wasn't able to view the work in person). I would definitely recommend him.
